mini-blog 0: start of sabbatical

It's the start of the sabbatical tomorrow! The start of an extended break away from work and other routine obligations. It's an adventure we've been talking about for almost 10 years or more. To prepare for it, we spent the last month flipping our home base apartment in Cascais, Portugal so we can rent it out and earn some money to fund our travels. It involved a lot of paperwork, minimizing our belongings (yet again), home repair work and cleaning. But it's all worth it! The apartment looks great and we are so ready to travel.
